Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Trackpile collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
Account info: your email address, a securely hashed password, and an optional display name. If you create your account in one of the apps, we also note whether you were browsing as a guest first, for how many days, and what you tapped that led you to create it. Content you add: the shows, movies, games, and action figures you track, along with watch status and ratings. Technical info: IP address, browser/device user agent, and session identifiers, used to keep you signed in and protect your account. From your IP address we also derive an approximate location — country and city, never a precise position — and show it on your Active sessions page, so you can recognise a sign-in that wasn't you. Usage info: the days you use Trackpile, whether on the web, iOS, or Android, the app version, and the country your IP address resolves to. The apps also count, anonymously, each launch, and how often each of their screens is opened and how long it stays on screen, as weekly totals. When you add a title, we also count which screen or page it was added from, kept only as weekly totals. If you browse the apps as a guest, without an account, they count in the same way when guest browsing starts, when the prompt to create an account appears and what opened it, and when guest browsing ends. None of these counts carries anything that identifies you or your device. Website visit counts: our own server counts, per day, how often each page of this website is reached from somewhere else, along with the kind of place the visit came from (a search engine, a social network, another website, or none), that site's domain name, and any campaign tag in the link. These are totals only. A request's IP address and browser user agent are looked at to leave out bots and our own visits and are not saved with the count; nothing in it identifies a visitor, and nothing is stored on your device to make it. Diagnostic info: when Trackpile hits an unexpected error, the app sends a report so we can find and fix it — the error message, where in the code it happened, the app version, and the device and operating system. These reports carry no name, email address, or account identifier, and no IP address is stored with them.
Where show, movie, game, and figure data comes from
Titles, artwork, and schedules are fetched server-side from TMDB, TVmaze, TheTVDB, IGDB, and SteamGridDB, and coming anime seasons from Wikipedia and Anime News Network. Figure catalog data is compiled from publicly available manufacturer and retailer listings. We don't share your personal account information with these providers — we only query them for public catalog data on your behalf.
How we use your information
To provide the tracking service and sync your watch history across devices, to keep your account secure, to respond to support requests, and to send essential account emails like password resets. We also turn usage info into aggregate statistics, such as how many people use each app and from which countries, to understand and improve Trackpile. Website visit counts tell us which pages and links bring people to the site. We compute these statistics on our own servers, not with a third-party analytics service. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell your personal information.
Sharing
We don't share your personal data with third parties beyond what's needed to run Trackpile — our hosting provider, transactional email delivery, an error-reporting service (Sentry, on servers in the European Union) that receives the diagnostic reports described above, and (for Plus subscribers) a payment processor for billing. Each is bound to use your data only to provide that service. Trailers on show, movie, and game pages come from YouTube, a YouTube API Service: their thumbnails are loaded from YouTube, and opening one plays it in YouTube's embedded player. YouTube (Google) then receives your IP address and device information, may set its own cookies, and handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Trackpile sends YouTube nothing about your account.
Cookies
Trackpile uses a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language, plus an optional analytics cookie if you accept it from the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Usage info is kept for at most 14 months; after that, only anonymous daily totals remain. Website visit counts are anonymous daily totals from the start, and are kept as such. You can export your tracked data at any time from Settings, and delete your account and all associated data whenever you like from Settings.
Children's privacy
Trackpile is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Trackpile evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
